With Gratitude & Warm Wishes for the Summer

Dear Lu Sutton Families,

As we wrap up the school year, I want to take a moment to share my heartfelt gratitude for being a part of this incredible community. It has been a year filled with laughter, learning, growth, and resilience—and I feel so lucky to walk alongside you and your children on this journey.

Together, we’ve celebrated joyful events, tackled new challenges, and continued to grow as a school family. From fun-filled field trips and engaging assemblies, to everyday moments of curiosity and kindness in the classroom, this year has been full of special memories. Through it all, your support has made a tremendous difference.

Thank you for making school a priority. Because of your partnership and commitment, our chronic absenteeism rate dropped below 10%—a huge step in supporting student success. Thank you for showing up, cheering us on, and stepping in whenever we’ve needed extra hands or helping hearts. And most of all, thank you for sharing your amazing children with us. It is an honor to be part of their learning journey.

As summer begins, I hope your days are filled with rest, adventure, and connection. I encourage you to limit screen time as much as possible—preserve the magic of childhood. Read books together, dance in the living room, play outside, and embrace the gift of boredom. It’s often the spark that lights the fire of imagination and creativity.

We will miss seeing our students' bright faces each day, and we’re already looking forward to welcoming them back in August for another wonderful year of learning and growth.

Wishing you all a safe, happy, and joy-filled summer.

Join Our School Site Council

The School Site Council plays an important role in decision-making for our school. The Site Council is composed of teachers, parents, and classified staff. As a team, they collaborate with the principal to develop, review, and evaluate school improvement programs and budgets. Members are elected by their peers and can serve for two years. It is a great way to learn about our school and have input for the future. If you are interested, please complete the form linked below.
Thank you for your help.

Summer Mental Health Matters

Summer break is a time to relax, recharge, and have fun—but it can also come with big feelings and changes to routine. Some students may feel lonely, anxious, or overwhelmed without the structure of school. That’s okay—and they’re not alone. If your child needs someone to talk to, please know that support is available. Check out the flyer for local health resources, including phone numbers and text lines where help is just a call or message away. Taking care of our minds is just as important as taking care of our bodies—this summer and always.
